Through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks affiliate grantmaking program, Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland has received funding from the Finley River Community Foundation.
Our program centers are essential to the Girl Scout experience. During events and camps, our Girls forge lasting friendships, learn new skills, and make lifelong memories. As the hosts of these precious experiences, we are committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of every Girl Scout, ensuring that their time at camp is both enriching and secure.
Thanks to this generous gift, we are able to enhance safety measures at our Finbrooke Program Center by enabling us to purchase an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). An AED is a lifesaving tool that assesses heart rhythm and, if necessary, delivers an electric shock to restore a normal heart rhythm. This AED will be available to assist any visitor of the Finbrooke Program Center who might be experiencing cardiac arrest.
"We are tremendously thankful for the generosity of the Finley River Community Foundation. We value their partnership in ensuring the outdoors is a safe place for not only our girls but all who visit our beloved Girl Scout camp." - Brigitte Scott, Interim CEO.
