Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland is thrilled to announce that Alyssa Graves is the Gold Award Girl Scout from Carl Junction for her extraordinary action addressing the impact organization and planning can have on the younger generation’s future.
Seeing a need to provide resources for planning and success, Alyssa created this new class with the help of her teachers and the school board. She taught the class herself to the eighth graders at her school in the last weeks of school. Her class covered topics like time blocking, active studying tips, time management, the use of agendas and bullet journals, and the student growth mindset. In addition, she made sure these classes would provide skills and strategies to reduce stress, improve productivity, and increase organization.
Alyssa said, “I reached my goal of creating and running a class where students can learn to grow as better planners and as people.” Additionally, the school will keep this class running even after she has graduated. Alyssa even created a new National Honor Society officer position and a course that can teach useful life skills to students with stressful and busy lives. Through her Gold Award project, Alyssa has shown that with dedication and a plan anyone can achieve their dreams!
