Being prepared in an emergency matters. Girl Scouts recommends-and sometimes requires-First Aid/CPR certification for adult volunteers.

 

When is First Aid/CPR required?

  • Recommended for many Girl Scout activities

  • Required for:

    • Activities outside of regular troop meetings

    • 🏕 Overnight trips & camping

    • High-risk activities

About this training:

  • 💻 Blended learning format

    • Self-paced online course

    • 🧑🏫 In-person session for hands-on skills practice

  • 👩 Taught by certified instructors

  • 📘 Uses a nationally recognized American Red Cross curriculum

  • Covers how to recognize and care for adult & pediatric first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies

Certification details:

  • 🏅 Earn a 2-year American Red Cross certification

  • 📄 Digital certificate

  • OSHA-compliant and meets workplace & regulatory requirements

  • 🔁 Can be used to renew an expired certification

Technology & attendance requirements

  • 📧 Active email address

  • 🌐 Reliable internet access

  • Ability to complete the online course in full

  • 📍 Ability to attend the scheduled in-person session

  • Online coursework must be completed before the in-person session (no exceptions)

Trainings are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Adults that wish to participate in the event must register.
