How to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award
- Let our council know you want to earn it.
- Review Your Guide to Going Gold.
- Create a free account in Go Gold to be guided through the process of creating a Gold Award project.
Find an issue in your community or the world that you care about.
Learn everything you can about that issue through research and trusted sources.
Form a team by identifying experts and people in your community who could help you.
Think about the root cause of an issue, then make a plan of how you could tackle it.
Submit your project proposal to our council for approval via Go Gold. The first Monday of every month, the GSMH Gold Award committee will pull and review all Gold Award proposals that have been submitted. Girls can expect feedback on their proposals by the end of the month. Any proposal submitted after the first Monday of the month will be reviewed during the following month.
- Lead your team and carry out your plan.
- Submit your final report in Go Gold by September 1st of the year after you graduate high school.
Reflect on the change you’ve created in your community and the world, share your story, and inspire others to make a difference, too.
