A Golden Evening
A Golden Evening is a fundraising event and celebration of Girl Scouts’ Highest Awards. It's a place to meet other supporters, both business and individuals, and learn about the Girl Scouts of today.

This award has been called by many different names through the years, Golden Eagle of Merit, Golden Eaglet, Curved Bar, First Class and today, the Girl Scout Gold Award. No matter the name of the award, the significance and prestige of earning it remains the same. By the time a recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award puts the final touches on her seven-step project, she will have solved a community problem—not only in the short term, but for years into the future—and she will be eligible for college scholarships.
We have found that the general public either does not know the Girl Scout Gold Award exists or does not understand its full significance as the culmination of a Girl Scout’s dedication to the program and her community. A Golden Evening serves as a way to draw awareness to the Girl Scout Gold Award through the event itself and our work with our media partners.
