• Change in the "Titanic Sweet Treats" Program!

Due to some logistical issues at the Titanic Museum, they had to restructure the “Titanic Sweet Treats” program. The program will now be called “ Tribute to Girl Scouts: Titanic honors Girl Scouts during their 100th year.”
When: Saturday, March 3 – Troop can come anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Where: Titanic Museum in Branson
Cost: $10.00 for girls and adults – cost includes a patch
Registration Deadline: February 17 (all registrations must be received by this date!)
What: Girls and adults will explore the exhibits and hands on activities of the Titanic Museum, get to see the museum’s canine mascots, Molly and Carter, and receive a commemorative Titanic 100th year patch. This is a wonderful way for girls to experience what life was like in 1912 – the year Girl Scouts was born!
What’s different: This program will not include the sweet treats or the tea lesson. However, girls and adults will now receive a patch and tickets are now less than half the original price!

• Resource Stewardship Girl Scout Ranger Program
Girl Scouts of the USA is collaborating with the National Parks Service to offer girls a chance to explore our wonderful National Parks while earning Girl Scout Recognitions. The Girl Scout Ranger program engages Girl Scouts in educational, volunteer service or action projects in national parks. Through participation in the program, girls discover a lot about themselves and the uniqueness of national park sites and what they help preserve; girls connect by working with National Park Service staff or volunteers and each other to determine what they can do to help protect these resources; and girls take action by implementing projects that develop them into leaders and help the parks. Girl Scouts earn a certificate for participating in activities at a National Park for a minimum of five hours and can earn a patch with a minimum of 10 hours.
Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland is home to four National Parks:
Fort Scott, Fort Scott, Kansas
George Washington Carver, Diamond, Missouri
Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Van Buren, Missouri
Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield, Battlefield, Missouri
For more information on the program visit the Girl Scout Ranger website www.nps.gov/gettinginvolved/youthprogram/girlscoutrangerprogram.htm.
