Assistant Cook


Position Summary: The assistant cook assists in preparing and serving food for all campers and staff. This is a seasonal position.



Essential Job Functions:  

1. Assist in preparation and serving of food; including preparing for unit cook-outs.

2. Assist in clean-up of equipment and facilities after meals.

3. Administer safe health standards.

4. Follow directions of supervisor.



Other Job Duties:
1. Assist with closing kitchen at end of season.

2. Carry out other duties as assigned.



Works with unit leaders and other camp staff.



Minimum Education and Experience: Incumbent must be at least 18 years of age and have knowledge of preparing food in large quantities.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with kitchen staff, ability to work with kitchen equipment, be willing to live in a camp setting, and meet requirements for membership in the Girl Scout organization.



Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to listen to others, observe others’ actions, read text and information, comprehend instructions and manuals, physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds, move about the camp property in various environmental conditions, climb, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, lift, work with fingers, grasp, feel and talk.
